The Chulu-East (6,059 m.) is situated above the Manang Valley. Astonishing views of the Annapurna II, III and IV, Manasalu, Dhaulagiri, Tilicho Peak, and Gangapurna can be seen from Chulu-East.

Thorang-La Pass is a major hub in the Annapurna trekking region. Making up to the Thorang-La Pass is indeed a strenuous job, altitude sickness being one of the frequent challenges. However, when the weather condition is good the trail is quite easy.

At the base of Thorang-La Pass lies Muktinath temple, a sacred place for both Hindus and Tibetan Buddhists. It is also known as the place of liberation or moksha.

Itinerary

The journey begins from Kathmandu Valley by bus or jeep towards Jagat Village. It will take 7 hours to reach there.

We will trek through the forests and cross some villages of Sherpas, and Gurungs to reach Dharapani.

We will start our trekking early in the morning and walk through the beautiful forested landscapes offering the stunning views of Annapurna II, Annapurna III, and Lamjung Himal.

We will start our trekking early in the morning and cross the elevation of 3,000 meters high. We will pass through the beautiful forests and small settlements of Gurung and Sherpas.

We will continue ascending through the rhododendron and pine forests until we reach the mixed village of Nawal.

Today, we will trek for 6 hours to reach Yak Kharka which is located at an elevation of 4,200 meters.

The trail goes steeply upwards through rocky ridges of the cliffs. We have to walk through snowy-path to reach Chulu East Base Camp which is located at an elevation of 4,989 meters. Today, we will walk for 6 hours to reach the base camp.

We will continue ascending through quite challenging route towards High Camp for 5 hours.

We will start early in the morning at 3 a.m. to avoid the high bows of wind during mid-day. The trail goes steeply up through the icy-rocky-path for a while. Then we will follow the footsteps of our climbing experts to reach the summit of the Chulu Far East Peak.

We will descend towards Base Camp for the overnight stay.

We will continue our walking towards Manang crossing Khangsar Village and Khangsar River to reach the beautiful village Siri Kharka. Further we will descend for a while to reach Manang.

We will explore the ethnic cultures of mountain lives hiking around the place. The place offers beautiful old monasteries and amazing landscapes to visit.

We will mostly go downhill and walk through the narrow and sloppy path to reach Yak Kharka. We will see some rare animals during our walking trail.

We will start our journey early in the morning to prevent us from bad weather which may be difficult to climb in the day time.

Today we will cross the High Pass in the Damodar Himal. The Pass is the gateway to enter into the Mustang.

We will follow the trail towards Marpha Village- the Apple Garden. Then we will walk on a smooth trail towards Jomsom.

We will take an early mountain flight from Jomsom to Pokhara. Our flight will pass between the two Himalayas Annapurna and Dhaulagiri. In the day time we will explore the beautiful city of Pokhara. We will visit different Lakes, Caves, and Temples and Gumbas inside the valley.

We will travel back to Kathmandu from Pokhara either by scenic mountain flight or by luxury bus passing beautiful villages and rivers.

FAQ

There might be some fixed departures in the peak season but you can check our fixed departures. If you are with some friends you can join with others if you want to. Even if you are alone, you can trek along with other groups, our well-experienced staff will not let you feel alone or bored.

Tea house means local lodges that exist along the treks where we will sleep and eat. These lodges prepare a large variety of local and western meals at a reasonable price. Our guides are very familiar with all these tea houses.

As a first aid kit is important while trekking, we included it in the trek. And we also have guides who are trained in using a first aid kit in case of emergency too. Please note that our clients are responsible to bring all their required personal medications (prescription) for their allergies etc.

Yes, there are many trekking shops in Nepal where you can easily hire or purchase backpacks, sleeping bags, sleeping mats, down jackets, etc. You can easily find them mostly in Kathmandu and Pokhara.

Yes, we will provide a responsible guide and our company takes all responsibilities to happen all safely and comfortably.

The Nepal rupee (NR) is the local currency accepted throughout the country. You will be able to exchange your national currency for rupees at the airport, banks, and other currency exchange offices. You can also find some ATMs where you can get local currency with a debit card. Many shops and restaurants in Kathmandu and Pokhara accept Credit cards too.
