Royal Chitwan National Park is a protected jungle area filled with wildlife located in the Terai area of Nepal. Chitwan used to be a hunting ground that royal used for hunting or the big game. It is the first national park in Nepal that was established in 1973 and was granted the status of UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1984. It takes about 4-6 hours to get Chitwan from Kathmandu or Pokhara by bus.

Chitwan National Park is the shelter to the endangered species like one-horned rhinos and Royal Bengal tiger. It is the home to different species of animals and birds. Some of the major attraction of Chitwan National Park is a bird watching and jungle safari. This place is like a heaven to animal lovers. It is also a great place to study different species of animals and birds. There are jeep tours offered for the people who want to go deep into the jungle quickly. This tour can be a great opportunity to see some of the rarest species of animals and birds. You can see the amazing surroundings of the observation tower as well.

Aside from jeep tours, you can also do a jungle/ nature walk at Chitwan National Park. Jungle walk is one of the adventurous and joyful activities of Chitwan National Park. The area of Sauraha is the most suitable for an elephant ride. One of the safest ways to observe wildlife in the jungle is also the elephant ride. It is truly amazing to move in the silent deep forests riding an elephant. A maximum people of 4 can ride the elephant at a time. Oxcart ride is also a ride for tourist who wants to experience the traditional transport of the Tharu people where the cart is pulled by a pair of oxen.
