Round Manaslu Trek
Manaslu (8,156 m.) is eighth highest mountain in the world and highest peak in Lamjung District. It is also known as “mountain of the spirit. The major peaks in the Manaslu region are Himalchuli(7,893 m.), Ngadi Chuli(7,871 m.), Shringi(7,187 m.), Langpo(6,668 m.) and Saula(6,235 m.).
Mt. Manaslu is subsumed in the Manaslu Conservation Area which is incorporated under the National Parks and Wild Life Conservation Act. Manaslu conservation area is a sanctuary to over 110 species of birds and 33 mammals, some of them being endangered species. Namely, the animals seen in this conservation area are Snow leopard, Panda, Lynx, Himalayan Black Bear, Grey Wolf, Dhole, Himalayan Musk Deer, Horseshoe Bat, Tahr and many more.
Hunting is banned in the Manaslu region, consequently, helping animals and birds thrive.
In Manaslu region, the temperature is extreme cold in upper region whereas moderately low in lower region.
Trekking in the Manaslu region required camping but recent construction of teas-houses has made it a lot easier.
Day 01: Kathmandu – by bus or jeep to Soti Khola 700m.
Day 02: Soti Khola – Machha Khola 5-6hrs / 869m.
Day 03: Machha Khola – Jagat 7-8hrs / 1340m.
Day 04: Jagat – Nyak Phedi/Deng 7-8hrs / 1860m.
Day 05: Deng – Namrung 7-8hrs / 2630m.
Day 06: Namrung – Lho 4-5hrs / 3180m.
Day 07: Lho – Samagaun 4hrs / 3520m.
Day 08: Day rest for acclimatization
Day 09: Samagaun – Samdo 3hrs / 3875m.
Day 10: Samdo - Dharmasala (Larkya Phedi) 3-4hrs / 4460m.
Day 11: Dharmasala – Cross Larkya la 5160m. and camp to Bhimthang 7hrs / 3590m.
Day 12: Bhimthang – Tilje 6hrs / 2300m.
Day 13: Tilje – Taal 6-7hrs / 1700m.
Day 14: Taal – Jagat 4hrs walking and by jeep or bus drive to Bensisahar
Day 15: Bensisahar – by bus back to Kathmandu.
