The Amphu Laptsa Pass is a difficult pass with the characteristics of a classic expedition. The pass is located in the Khumbu region. The major attractions of this area are its old civilization, monasteries, and the welcoming Sherpa people of the region. The high Himalayas play a major role in attracting tourists.

The Island Peak (6,189 m.), located in the upper Imja Valley, is also known as Imja Tso. Despite the difficulty, due to the steep climbing, the hike to Island Peak is a popular one. From the Island Peak, splendid views of Makalu, Lhotse, and Ama Dablam can be enjoyed.
