Overview

Mardi Himal is the most southerly peak of the Annapurna range. It is the lowest and least climbed the peak. The photograph of the Mardi Himal, taken in 1953 by Baisl Good fellow, first drew the attention of western climbers. The first ascent to the Mardi Himal in 1961. The first route was via the East Flank and it is the only used so far. Mardi Himal separates the southwest ridge of fishtail as a separate mass at right angles to the ridge and it is best seen from the south. The southwest face of the mountain has three well-defined ridges rising from the rock buttresses and separated by hanging glaciers. Its east face is separated from the fishtail ridge by a col at 5,200 m.

Itinerary

Upon your arrival, we will welcome you at the airport and transfer you to the luxury hotel by our private van. We will offer you a welcome dinner and have some discussion about our packages and trekking itinerary.

Early in the morning, we will guide you to explore the Bouddha Stupa and Pashupatinath Temple. In the afternoon, we will assist you in preparing legal permits and other requirements.

We will travel by tourist bus towards Pokhara city crossing small cities, villages, beautiful rivers, and green hills. We will travel for 6 hours to get into the Pokhara Valley.

We will begin our journey early in the morning by traveling towards Phedi by jeep which will take an hour to get there. After breakfast, we will start our trekking trail heading towards beautiful village of Dhampus. The village offers magnificent outlooks of mountain in Annapurna Range. Later, we will trek towards Pothana for the overnight stay in the hotel.

The trail goes steeply upwards through the dense forested landscapes with beautiful sounds of birds tweeting and animal roaring. We will walk for 4 hours to reach Forest Camp.

We will walk through the steeply elevated route inside the jungle. When we will be at the ridge of cliffs, we can see the stunning scenery of Himalayas. We will trek for 6 hours to reach Bhaisi Kharka.

We will trek for 3 hours to reach Mardi Base Camp. Mardi Himal Base Camp is located in the valley between the south and southeast ridges of Mardi Himal. We will quickly set up our camps and our Sherpa guide will train us for few hours and check necessary climbing equipment before heading up to high camp.

We will continue trekking through steeply climb over the rocks and perhaps with some snow towards a camping site. We will set up our camps then make necessary arrangements for the climbing.

We will start climbing very early in the morning to avoid the strong winds after midday. We will climb very carefully following the footsteps of our climbing expert. We will spens some quality time at the top of the peak ten descend towards Base camp for the overnight stay.

We will continue descending towards Forest camp through icy footsteps.

The trail goes continuously through the downhill across the forested areas. The Sidding village is beautiful village which will offers its ethnic traditions and cultures to her visitors.

We will continue trekking through jungles and cross some beautiful villages along the way to Mardi Pul.

Today, we will trek only for 3 hours to reach Hyanja village and then we will travel towards Pokhara by Jeep.

We will travel back to Kathmandu from Pokhara which will take 7 hours to enter into the valley.

You can rest all the day and hike around the locals market in the evening to buy some memento for yourself and for special one. We will offer you farewell dinner party.

You will be transferred to the International Airport from where you can depart to your home town or join the next trip.

FAQ

There might be some fixed departures in the peak season but you can check our fixed departures. If you are with some friends you can join with others if you want to. Even if you are alone, you can trek along with other groups, our well-experienced staff will not let you feel alone or bored.

Tea house means local lodges that exist along the treks where we will sleep and eat. These lodges prepare a large variety of local and western meals at a reasonable price. Our guides are very familiar with all these tea houses.

As a first aid kit is important while trekking, we included it in the trek. And we also have guides who are trained in using a first aid kit in case of emergency too. Please note that our clients are responsible to bring all their required personal medications (prescription) for their allergies etc.

Yes, there are many trekking shops in Nepal where you can easily hire or purchase backpacks, sleeping bags, sleeping mats, down jackets, etc. You can easily find them mostly in Kathmandu and Pokhara.

Yes, we will provide a responsible guide and our company takes all responsibilities to happen all safely and comfortably.

The Nepal rupee (NR) is the local currency accepted throughout the country. You will be able to exchange your national currency for rupees at the airport, banks, and other currency exchange offices. You can also find some ATMs where you can get local currency with a debit card. Many shops and restaurants in Kathmandu and Pokhara accept Credit cards too.
