Dakshinkali is a village that lies 20 Kilometers outside of Kathmandu. And it is one of the famous and most sacred Hindu places of worship. Dakshinkali Temple is a beautiful devotion to the Goddess Kali, the frightful and ferocious form of the mother goddess. In the Hindus religion, Goddess kali views as an important god and belief that god kali has the ability to make wishes come true. Thus, hundreds of people from Kathmandu or from different places from Nepal make their way to Dakshin Kali Temple. Most of the people from Kathmandu valley make their way to the temple on Tuesdays and Saturdays to pay their respect because these days take as a good day for praying Goddess Kali. To satisfy the Goddess Kali, people bring chickens, goats, sheep, pigeons to offer the tributes.
After worshiping at Dakshinkali Temple walk for about 10-15 min downward of green forested hills and you will reach to Pharping. It is a neighboring village to Dakshinkali and home of the many flourishing Newari area. Here, you can find a large number of Tibetans also. While looking around the Pharping monastery gives you an impression of local Buddhist culture. While touring in Buddhist pilgrims you can notice that many colorful temples because of Padmasambhava, also known as Guru Rinpoche. It was believed that Guru Rinpoche has attained enlightenment in the caves of Pharping during the 8th century. If you observe closely at the entrance of a cave you will see the handprint of the guru and legend has it that Padmasambhava attained supernatural power during his meditations and left an eternal handprint on the stone walls.
In this 1 day package, it will start from Kathmandu pickup at 5:30 am and you will have your breakfast after visiting the temple around 8:30 am. After finishing your worship you can visit their local shop and buy a different local product like khuwa, amala and many more. After sightseeing at Dakshinkali you can start your way to the Pharphing monastery where you can see different cast people and you can enjoy the local Buddhist culture. After finishing the launch at 1 p.m. then return back to Kathmandu. Then you will be dropped off the same location where you picked up in the morning time.
