Bhutan is one of the countries which has a different kind of hiking experience. There are different cultural sites, pristine wilderness, and landscapes that you can visit. Trekking in Bhutan is altogether a different experience. Bhutan has amazing landscapes, tribes, and lakes in different places. Masagang is one of the treks where you can explore the great peaks. The path to Masagang trek is usually used by yak herders for grazing pastures. This trek takes a detour to Laya Village, which has a unique social and cultural depths to this trek. Along the way, we pass through military checkpoints that reminds us of the closeness to China/Tibet border in the north. As we forward, we can see the grandeur of Masagang and other peaks opening up. We can see amazing nature and its beauty right before our eyes. We can also see traditional houses, yak herder huts, thick forests, and alpine meadows. After the landscapes open up, we can see other neighboring snow-capped peaks. This area is holy and sacred to the locals.
This trek is truly the most remarkable trek in Bhutan. The trail is old as it gets, without any visitors other than Yak Herders and few locals. It has its own originality in a beautiful form with many breathtaking landscapes and mountains. This trek is moderately difficult due to the high altitude into the unspoiled area.
