The Annapurna Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek actually begins from Nayapul, after a short drive from Pokhara. Trekking through the stunning views of sunrise and rice terraces will make you feel relaxed. The trek experiences you a geographic variation with amazing distinct cultures. The highlights of the trip would be dramatic changes in the landscape and sightseeing of the Rhododendron forests with many beautiful birds and animals. The trip continues with the panoramic views of great Himalayas like Annapurna south (7,220 m), Annapurna I (8,091 m), Dhaulagiri I (8,167 m), Machhapuchhre (6,993 m), and many others. The dense forests of red, white and pink Rhododendron and Oak are there on the way to add beauty to your journey.

When is the best time for Annapurna Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek?

The easiest and marvelous trekking route is favorable in every season except summer. Especially, September to December and late February to May will be the lovely and best time to Annapurna Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek. These days there will be no raining, the weather will be clear with moderate temperature during day and night.

Is prior experience necessary for this trek?

The exciting and little bit thrilling Annapurna Ghorepani Poon Hill Trekking route doesn’t need any training in hill climbing and trekking experiences. The route is famous for a short time hiking. One can start the magnificence trekking having an average fitness level with a good health condition.

Itinerary

You will be warmly welcomed upon arrival at TIA, Kathmandu (1,310 m) and transfer to Hotel and stay overnight there.

Next day you may visit historical and religious places and temples in Kathmandu valley listed in World Heritage Sites by UNESCO and we will assist you to prepare your legal trek permit. You may have shopping for essential goods for trekking.

You will fly to Pokhara (35minutes)on your third day and drive to Nayapul (2 hours) and then walk through Birehanti for 5 hours to reach Tikedhunga (2,520 m) and stay overnight at Lodge.

The next day trial will start with crossing the Tikedhunga Khola and Bhurungdi Khola. You have to climb very steeply on a stone staircase to reach the Magar village in Ulleri(2080m). The trail passes through the cultivated fields and also through the dense forests of Rhodendron and Oak. After 6 hours of trekking, you arrive at Ghorepani and stay overnight at Lodge.

We have to make an early start in order to enjoy the sunrise over the Himalayas. Our fifth-day trail leads us to a viewpoint of the most popular trekking destination Poon Hill. We can see the mesmerizing views of snowy peaks of the high mountains glowing in the morning light. The stunning close-up views of Annapurna Dhaulagiri ranges will add rejoice to our trekking. Later we head towards Tadapani through the Rhododendron forests and some beautiful waterfalls along the way.

On the sixth day of our trail, we pass through the dense and dark forest of old Rhododendron trees to reach the village Ghandruk. The sloppy village is mostly inhabitant by Gurung people. Here we experience the closeup views of Fishtail and Annapurna South mountains. We may visit the Gurung Museum to explore the cultural and religious behavior of mountain lives.

Today, we will trek downhill stepping through a stone staircase back to Nayapul from where we started our trek. We will finish our trek after 4 hours of the journey through the different villages to reach Nayapul. Then, we drive back to Pokhara and stay overnight at the hotel.

We fly back to Katmandu in the afternoon and enjoy the day in a relaxed mood. We may have some last moment shopping and celebrate the successful completion of our journey. We will have farewell dinner and stay overnight at Kathmandu.

Please note that our clients are responsible to bring all their required personal medications (prescription) for their allergies etc.

Yes, there are many trekking shops in Nepal where you can easily hire or purchase backpacks, sleeping bags, sleeping mats, down jackets, etc. You can easily find them mostly in Kathmandu and Pokhara.
