Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek is one of the most attractive short journeys in Nepal and has been considered as most exciting trekking route. This package is combined with ethnic tour outfits for everyone in Kathmandu and Pokhara, It is a delightful walking adventure course in the Himalayan foothills in the Annapurna region.

We trek through the forests mostly consisting of rhododendron trees which give a perfect experience of the nature walk. You will also adore one of the best sunrises over the massifs on the trip. Another beautiful fact about the trip is its altitude. It just ranges 3,210 meters above sea level and yet brings superb views of the mountains. The panoramic vision of the massif summits in the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri range is simply spectacular from Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek.

 

When is the best season to do Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek?

The best seasons for trekking in the Ghorepani Poon Hill are the spring and autumn seasons. The trek is of only 8 days so we can manage journeys throughout the year upon customers’ demand. The months from September to May are considered as the ideal time to Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek.

 

 

Is it difficult to do Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek?

 

The Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek is an easy trek as compared to the longer treks around Annapurna Region. For this comfort trek, good physical fitness and daring mentality is needed. Without any prior experience of mountain climbing, one can traverse this beautiful trek.

Itinerary

We will welcome you at the Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu and transfer you to the luxurious hotel. We will do brief discussion about our tour to Poon Hill.

Overnight at Hotel.

 

Start traveling early in the morning through hilly landscapes along the bank of the glacial river Trishuli. Travel for 7 hours to reach beautiful lake city of Pokhara.

Overnight at Hotel in Lakeside Pokhara.

Drive for 45 minutes from Pokhara to reach Nayapul then start walking through the scattered village passing rivers and forests to reach Tikhedhunga.

Overnight at Tea House.

We will make our climb to Ghorepani village. Ghorepani is a motivating place with small shops and stalls for marketing local products and crafts. From the upper part of the Ghorepani village that offers panoramic visions of the surrounding mountains including Annapurna South and Nilgiri mountains

Early morning hike to Poon Hill for astounding sunrise views on Dhaulagiri and Annapurna ranges. The outstanding mountain panorama from the top of hill offers you boundless joys and exciting moments. Later descend towards Tadapani Village through beautiful forests of Rhododendron and Bamboo.

Overnight at community base tea shop.

Make a steep descent through the dense forest of Rhododendron and Bamboos to reach Ghandruk. Ghandruk is a beautiful village of Gurung community. You can explore the Gurung Museum in Ghandruk. Then continue walking towards the bus stop of Kimchee. Catch a public bus or jeep to travel towards Pokhara.

It takes 7 hours to return back into the Kathmandu Valley from Pokhara City.

We will leave you to the International flight as per your schedule and you can leave Nepal for your home town.

There might be some fixed departures in the peak season but you can check our fixed departures. If you are with some friends you can join with others if you want to. Even if you are alone, you can trek along with other groups, our well-experienced staff will not let you feel alone or bored.

Tea house means local lodges that exist along the treks where we will sleep and eat. These lodges prepare a large variety of local and western meals at a reasonable price. Our guides are very familiar with all these tea houses.

As a first aid kit is important while trekking, we included it in the trek. And we also have guides who are trained in using a first aid kit in case of emergency too. Please note that our clients are responsible to bring all their required personal medications (prescription) for their allergies etc.

Yes, there are many trekking shops in Nepal where you can easily hire or purchase backpacks, sleeping bags, sleeping mats, down jackets, etc. You can easily find them mostly in Kathmandu and Pokhara.

Yes, we will provide a responsible guide and our company takes all responsibilities to happen all safely and comfortably.

The Nepal rupee (NR) is the local currency accepted throughout the country. You will be able to exchange your national currency for rupees at the airport, banks, and other currency exchange offices. You can also find some ATMs where you can get local currency with a debit card. Many shops and restaurants in Kathmandu and Pokhara accept Credit cards too.
