When is the best season to trek Mardi Himal Base Camp?

The best season to trek Mardi Himal Base Camp is in the spring and autumn season. In those days the weather remains favorable and temperature would be moderately fine. In the rainy season, the region suffers from heavy rainfall and winter season would be too cold.

Itinerary

Upon your arrival, our team representatives will pick you from the International Airport and transfer you to the luxurious hotel. We will offer you welcome party and discuss about our trip itinerary in brief.

We begin our drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara early in the morning. We pass through rivers, meadows, and villages on the way. We will reach a beautiful city Pokhara after 6 – 7 hours. Pokhara is a beautiful lake city with wonderful views of Mt. Fishtail, Annapurna, and other mountains.

Take a local bus and drive for 2 hours towards Phedi village. Then start trekking from Phedi through scattered village towards Deurali for the overnight stay in tea house.

From Deurali, the track passes through dense forestry decorated with the national flower of Nepal, Rhododendron. We walk through a noiseless path until we reach the clearing of the Forest camp. The region is locally known as Kokar and has a few simple gatehouses where we can have dinner and spend the night.

Make a steep climb through forested landscapes and pass through pasture lands to reach Low Camp. Trek for 5 hours to reach the today’s destination.

After taking rest at low camp, we will sort our way along the ridges of Mardi Himal hills. We will cross through tall trees, rhododendrons, and other bloomers along the way. We enjoy the views of the stunning hills and snowcapped mountains as we approach High camp.

We will climb  up and down trails on sharp and narrow routes on our way to the upper viewpoint. The amazing panoramic vistas from the upper viewpoint comprises Annapurna, Mardi Himal, Himchuli, Tent peak, Baraha Shikhar, Singhachuli, Fishtail, and many others. Later descend towards High Camp.

Walk through the Rhododendron and Pine forests and go downhill to reach Sidhing Village.

Trek for 3 hours to reach the bus stop in Lumre Village. Then catch local bus towards Pokhara. In the evening time hike around the lakeside of Pokhara. You can extend another day to explore the beautiful city.

Take a luxurious bus to drive back to Kathmandu through the comfortable highway along the bank of glacial river Trishuli. In the evening time hike around the Kathmandu city. You can extend another day to visit the Kathmandu Valley.

You can join alternatively our next tour package or depart to your own home town.

There might be some fixed departures in the peak season but you can check our fixed departures. If you are with some friends you can join with others if you want to. Even if you are alone, you can trek along with other groups, our well-experienced staff will not let you feel alone or bored.

Tea house means local lodges that exist along the treks where we will sleep and eat. These lodges prepare a large variety of local and western meals at a reasonable price. Our guides are very familiar with all these tea houses.

As a first aid kit is important while trekking, we included it in the trek. And we also have guides who are trained in using a first aid kit in case of emergency too. Please note that our clients are responsible to bring all their required personal medications (prescription) for their allergies etc.

Yes, there are many trekking shops in Nepal where you can easily hire or purchase backpacks, sleeping bags, sleeping mats, down jackets, etc. You can easily find them mostly in Kathmandu and Pokhara.

Yes, we will provide a responsible guide and our company takes all responsibilities to happen all safely and comfortably.

The Nepal rupee (NR) is the local currency accepted throughout the country. You will be able to exchange your national currency for rupees at the airport, banks, and other currency exchange offices. You can also find some ATMs where you can get local currency with a debit card. Many shops and restaurants in Kathmandu and Pokhara accept Credit cards too.
