Rara Lake lies in the remote Karnali zone in the north and the largest lake of Nepal which covers 11 sq km – west of Nepal. The region is made up of long ridges covered with temperate forests and alpine pastures enclosing high valleys. Summer rainfall is low, but winter snow can be heavy and persistent. Since the region is fairly high and free from monsoon thunderstorms, the summer season is ideal for trekking. Winters are cold, but in the autumn season, trekking is rewarded with a profusion of alpine flowers.
We will take 55 minutes flight towards beautiful city Nepalgunj. In the evening we will explore the local markets and visit Bageshwori Temple.
The next day we will take another luxurious flight to Jumla. We will hike above the market for stunning sunset views.
We will start trekking early in the morning towards Chere Cahur (3,055 m). We will cross the Khalanga Bazaar on our way.
We will ascend through beautiful forests of Rhododendron, Pine, and Birch and cross Jaljala Pass (3,580 m) and continue trekking for 5 hours to reach beautiful village of Chala Chaur (2,980 m)
We will trek towards Sinja Valley which will take about 5 hours to arrive.
We will follow the upstream trail to reach Laha then continue walking for 3 hours to reach Ghorosingha located at an elevation of 3,050 meters
We will climb steep uphill along the side of Chucharmare Danda. From the to of the hill we will view the magnificent scenery of Rara Lake (3,010 m).
Rara Lake is surrounded by dense green forests which is home to diverse flora and fauna including some rare species of birds, fishes, and animals. If you want to go for the long day trip, then Murma Top offers a spectacular view of the lake from the above. It’ll take around 6-7 hours to go there and come back.
We will have pleasant walking today towards Gamgadhi town. Later we will descend down to our destination Pina.
We will walk for 6 hours along the uphill trail and cross Ghurchi Langa Pass (3,840 m). Then we will pass bhulbule Village and small settlement around Chautha to reach beautiful village of Bumra (2,850 m).
We will cross bridge above Hima River then walk downhill through hot spring. We will cross Chere Chaur Village to reach Jumla.
We will take flight to Nepalgunj then again catch another flight towards Kathmandu.
There might be some fixed departures in the peak season but you can check our fixed departures. If you are with some friends you can join with others if you want to. Even if you are alone, you can trek along with other groups, our well-experienced staff will not let you feel alone or bored.
Tea house means local lodges that exist along the treks where we will sleep and eat. These lodges prepare a large variety of local and western meals at a reasonable price. Our guides are very familiar with all these tea houses.
As a first aid kit is important while trekking, we included it in the trek. And we also have guides who are trained in using a first aid kit in case of emergency too. Please note that our clients are responsible to bring all their required personal medications (prescription) for their allergies etc.
Yes, there are many trekking shops in Nepal where you can easily hire or purchase backpacks, sleeping bags, sleeping mats, down jackets, etc. You can easily find them mostly in Kathmandu and Pokhara.
