Makalu & Solukhumbu valley trail

Mt. Makalu (8,463 m) is the fifth highest mountain in the world. Mt. Makalu is a neighbor to the highest peak in the world. Climbing Makalu is graded as a difficult one.
Solukhumbhu is located in the eastern part of Nepal. The highest peak of the world, Mt. Everest is located in this area. In addition, Makalu, Lhotse, Pumori, Nuptse, Amadablam are also located in this area. These beautiful mountains, monasteries, wide-ranging glaciers are attractions to tourists that visit Solukhumbhu. Trekking, mountaineering, and expeditions are major activities to do around Solukhumbhu.
The Sherpas are the major inhabitants of the Solukhumbhu area. Animal husbandry is the traditional activity of the Sherpas. However, tourism, trekking, and mountaineering are flourishing professions of the Sherpas.
On the 5th day, a visit to The Milarepa cave can be a good visit. Tibetan yogi, Milarepa of the 11th century is believed to have spent many years in this place.
When trekkers reach Chheskam, it would probably feel like the Solubhumkhu area was a crowded place. Chheskam was a rarely visited place before trekkers included in their routes.
We will take the early flight to Tumlingtar from Kathmandu Valley. After breakfast in the beautiful city, we will drive for Num by private Jeep for 7 hours. Num is located on the elevation above an S-shaped bend in the River Arun.
We will start our walking trail from Num heading towards Nabha Gaon. The route offers amazing views of terraced farming lands and cattle grazing pastures. We will cross small settlements of Rai and Sherpas to reach the beautiful village of Nabha Gaon.
Fro Nabha Gaon, we will begin our journey climbing towards uphill for 3 hours then plain pastures for 2 hours with climbing and descending to enter into Walung Village. We will stay at the hotel in Nurbu Chaur.
We will start walking early in the morning with stunning views of high massifs along steep cliffs for 2 hours. Then we will descend slowly for another 4hours to reach Dobatak where we will stay at tea house.
Milarepa Cave is a famous holy place in Tibet and there are also associated Milarepa Meditation Caves in Himalayas of Nepal. We will visit one of them and stay overnight in a tented camp at Gautala.
We will begin our trek climbing uphills then walk through the plain jungle route to reach Gufa Danda. The place offers stunning views of the Himalayas of the Khumbu series.
Today, we will walk for 5 hours through a comfortable route to reach Chitre Village.
We will begin walking early in the morning before sunrise to reach Bakang Kharka in time. We will hike around the village to explore the ethnic culture living in the valley.
We will begin through steeply descending route and cross rice paddies and cardamom plants to the river far below. After 5 hours of walking, we will reach Boksher Village.
We will climb steeply upwards to Kemba La Pass. It should be crossed very carefully. Later, we will descend to Chheksam for an overnight stay.
Today, we will cross Sukrie Pass (3,070 m) and the route goes steep down along a rocky trail and through a bamboo forest, to reach Naji Dingma.
We will descend from Naji Dingma until we reach Gai Kharka. Then climb steeply up and cross Pangom La Pass (3,145 m) before reaching Pangom Village.
Today, we will walk through a plain rocky path to reach Nunthala. We will cross the river and several villages along the bank of the river to reach Nunthala.
We have two options today, either we can travel or trek to Salleri.
We will drive back to Kathmandu valley by Jeep from Salleri. It will take 6 hours.
