Panch Pokhari (4,100 m) is situated in the Eastern part of Nepal. It is the part of Rolwaling Trekking Region. The Panch Pokhari Trekking is an unexplored trekking destination and is also less crowded. The Panch Pokhari is named after five lakes. These lakes are the five holy lakes in Hinduism. The Panch Pokhari is densely crowded during Janai Purnima, a major festival of the Hindu and also some Buddhists.
The few major attractions of Panch Pokhari are pristine nature and the spectacular mountain views viz. Jugal, Dorjee Lakpa, Phurbi Chhyachu. Gauri Shankar, Rolwaling, Madiya, etc. The Panch Pokhari trek can be done any season of the year. However, February- May, and August- November are the best seasons.
The trek to Panch Pokhari starts at Chautara. Chautara is the headquarter os Sindhupalchowk district. It is a five-hour drive away from Kathmandu. The splendid scene of the mountain ranges, pristine nature, and also the culture of villages o the way serve as decorations to the route. Panch Pokhari trek is a combination of rich cultural heritage and biological diversity.
We will start our driving from Ratnapark of Kathmandu early in the morning through the beautiful markets, villages, and forests crossing the bridge over rivers. Chautara is a beautiful-looking city of Sindhupalchowk district which takes 6 hours to get there.
We will cross small streams and the terraced farmlands and we reach Okhreni Village. The route goes through cultural settlements of people living together with distinct cultures in the hilly region of Nepal. The lifestyles and their behaviors to tourists will certainly win everyone’s heart.
The trail goes steeply upwards for an hour then passes through the dense forest of Rhododendron. Later the path goes through the beautiful villages and reaches the village Kami Kharka.
We will start our trek early in the morning walking through steep uphill then through the ridge of the hill and descend later to reach Pauwa Bas. The beautiful forests of Rhododendron, Juniper, Pine, and Oak will be passed throughout the journey.
With the spectacular scenery of green hills and dense forests, we will walk through hilly slopes and plain hilly route to get into the Hile Bhanjyang.
The route goes through the dense forests and rocky hills. The route offers enjoyable environment and panoramic surroundings which will relieve your all the pain.
Our trek continues towards uphill from Nasim Pati. The trek goes through uphill then through the ridge of high hill and descend slowly towards Pach Pokhari Lake.
We will trek back to Nasim Pati from Pach Pokhari via the same route.
We will continue descending for 5 hours through the forested route to enter into the beautiful village of Dukhang.
We start our journey early in the morning and walk whole day to reach the Dhap Danda Village. It will take 6 hours without counting rest time.
We will trek down to Melamchi Pul Bazaar from Dhap Danda Village which takes 5 hours.
We will drive back to Kathmandu and transfer you to the hotel. We will offer you farewell dinner together with us.
There might be some fixed departures in the peak season but you can check our fixed departures. If you are with some friends you can join with others if you want to. Even if you are alone, you can trek along with other groups, our well-experienced staff will not let you feel alone or bored.
Tea house means local lodges that exist along the treks where we will sleep and eat. These lodges prepare a large variety of local and western meals at a reasonable price. Our guides are very familiar with all these tea houses.
As a first aid kit is important while trekking, we included it in the trek. And we also have guides who are trained in using a first aid kit in case of emergency too. Please note that our clients are responsible to bring all their required personal medications (prescription) for their allergies etc.
Yes, there are many trekking shops in Nepal where you can easily hire or purchase backpacks, sleeping bags, sleeping mats, down jackets, etc. You can easily find them mostly in Kathmandu and Pokhara.
