Jomsom (2,743 m.) is also known as a new port. It is a dry landscape. Nilgiri (7,061 m) and Dhaulagiri (8,167 m) are visible from Jomsom. Despite the number of fights being scheduled to Jomsom, going there largely depends on the weather conditions. There are many hotels and lodges in Jomsom for accommodation.

Locals in the Jomsom area are basically ‘Thakalis’. They are hard-working and believe in ancient culture. From the very beginning, locals of Jomsom were and are engaged in trade. Jomsom is also popular for its apple production.  From Jomsom, a 4 hr trek will take trekkers to Kagbeni. Kagbeni is a gateway to Upper Mustang. Kagbeni is a remote village in the Himalayan region. Kagbeni depends on tourism and agriculture.

Lo Manthang is the capital of Mustang. Hiking, photography, sightseeing, trekking are major objectives to visit Lo Manthang. To reach to Lo Manthang steeply rocks and desert-like places should be passed. On the 11th day, Mt. Everest can be visible from Syanboche in case weather favors.
