One of the most adventurous treks in the Annapurna region is Ghorepani Jomsom Trek. The trekking route takes you to Poon Hill through the pleasant trial with stunning scenarios of different Himalayas Peaks. Later, you will head to the Mustang to visit Muktinath, Kagbeni, and Jomsom. You will get the opportunity to visit beautiful villages like Marpha, Tukuche, Ghasa and many other villages. These places are rich in traditional and cultural aspects of local inhabitants mainly by Sherpa, Magar, Thakali, Lho, and Gurung. The Marpha village is a typical Thakali village.

During the glorious journey you will be encountered through Dhaulagiri Ice Fall, pass through the Kaligandaki Valley and beautiful scenes of Kagbeni and Kaligandaki river and stunning views of the Himalayas following on your background along the trail.  Besides this, you will explore and experience the wilderness and surprising moments of Lower Mustang landscape on your trip.

The spectacular views of the Himalayas like Mt.Annapurna (8,091 m) range and Dhaulagiri(8,167 m) range fascinates the Ghorepani Jomsom Trek. This trek will take you up to the altitude of 3800m. The adventurous trip has no difficulties if every caution is considered. Fitness level is highly required and legal permission for trekking should have done in Kathmandu.

When is the best time to Ghorepani Jomsom Trek?

March-May will be the best time to Ghorepani Jomsom Trek regarding more chance of blooming Rhododendron. In February it will be colder and in summer it will be wet. However, the weather of the mountain is unpredictable and there will be snow at any time.

Is it difficult to trek Ghorepani Hill?

Ghorepani hill trekking via Jomsom is not so difficult as people set on their minds. Any daring person with perfect physical fitness can do this trek easily. High altitude sickness may be the problem as the trek takes you to the elevation above 4,00 meters.

Itinerary

Our team member will welcome you at Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu and transfer you to the hotel for overnight stay. We will have a brief discussion about our trekking package.

We will drive for 7 hours along the bank of Trishuli River to reach Pokhara. We can visit the most beautiful city of Nepal in the remaining time for relaxation and stay overnight at the hotel.

After a 2 km drive from Pokhara, we will reach the Nayapul and we start our trekking over there to reach the beautiful valley Ghandruk. Ghandruk is Gurung village and has been listed on World Heritage Site by UNESCO.  We will stay overnight at Ghandruk.

In the early morning, you will hike around the Poon Hill at the altitude of 3,195m. Then you will trek through the Rhododendron and Pine forests for 6 to 7 hours to reach the Tadapani.

The trial begins beyond the world’s deepest gorge of Kali Gandaki Valley and passing through the bank of the Kali Gandaki river. The route gets narrow from Dana to Thakali village called Ghasa.

During this trial, we encounter the beautiful flow of Kali Gandaki River flowing beneath Tukuche. There will be stunning outlook of Nilgiri along with the Annapurna range.

On the seventh day, our trekking passes through the historic Shyang village in the lap of the Shyang river to reach Kagbeni. We will see many Buddhists Stupas and Ekle Bhatti before arriving at Kagbeni.

We will pass through the Khinger and Jharkot to reach the holy place-the Muktinath Temple in Ranipauwa village. Both Buddhists and Hindus accept their holy place to Muktinath Temple.

Leaving back some markets and settlements we will start our trek towards Jomsom. On the way, we will pass Danda and Lubra village. We can hang around the Jomsom, headquarter of Mustang district and stay overnight at the hotel.

On the 10th day of our adventurous and memorable journey, we fly back to Pokhara and relax at the lakeside. You can travel via a local bus, but the dusty and off roads may make you feel tired.

After the seven hours of the bus journey, we will reach Kathmandu. We will pass some beautiful places like Damauli, Mugling, Malekhu and more.

On the day, we can visit some World Heritage Sites in Kathmandu like Soyambhunath, Bouddha Stupa, Pashupatinath Temple, Bhaktapur Durbar Square, and Patan Durbar Square. We may have last moment shopping in the evening.

You will have a farewell party and one of our representatives will assist you at the airport.

Please note that our clients are responsible to bring all their required personal medications (prescription) for their allergies etc.

Yes, there are many trekking shops in Nepal where you can easily hire or purchase backpacks, sleeping bags, sleeping mats, down jackets, etc. You can easily find them mostly in Kathmandu and Pokhara.

Yes, we will provide a responsible guide and our company takes all responsibilities to happen all safely and comfortably.

The Nepal rupee (NR) is the local currency accepted throughout the country. You will be able to exchange your national currency for rupees at the airport, banks, and other currency exchange offices.
